Viral Nation was tasked with driving awareness to Twitch and increase viewer retention by activating Lifestyle and Gaming influencers. 39 influencers were activated on Twitch, YouTube and Instagram throughout the month of December to unbox Twitch merchandise and drive audiences to the platform. Viral Nation also organized 2 charity livestreams that targeted both gamers and the cooking community to help raise money for No Kid Hungry, while also driving brand awareness for Twitch during the holiday season.

The Goal

  • Drive mass awareness for the Twitch platform by targeting Twitch Aware, Twitch Unaware, and Twitch Frequent
  • Introduce the brand to more Twitch Unaware through its core values of inclusivity and community and giving back to the community
  • Increase brand awareness and viewer retention through the use of 3 programs throughout the month of December

The Strategy

  • Utilize influencers that are well known in the lifestyle and gaming communities to unbox Twitch merchandise in end-roll integrations, along with Instagram stories, to drive traffic to Twitch and the Amazon Twitch merch store
  • Activate 1 off platform mega influencers to be paired with a popular Twitch streamer to host a two hour Let’s Play Minecraft livestream that will help raise money for No Kid Hungry
  • Orchestrate a live stream production that leverages 3 Twitch influencers, 1 celebrity chef, and 1 celebrity host in a cooking challenge style livestream to raise money for charity
